EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

Steven Gaffney Steven F. Gaffney
President and CEO

Steven F. Gaffney joined DynCorp International as chairman of the board of directors in July 2010, and was named chief executive officer and president in August 2010. Steve joined DI from IAP Worldwide Services, Inc., where he served as CEO. Steve has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the defense industry. Previously he served as senior vice president of ITT Corporation and president of ITT Defense Electronics and Services. Early in his career, Steve led business segments at Litton Industries, AlliedSignal and Smith Industries.  He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Champion and Green Belt.

William T. Kansky
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

William T. Kansky joined DynCorp International as chief financial officer and senior vice president in 2010. Previously he was vice president and chief financial officer at ITT Defense and Information Solutions, and he has worked in the finance organizations of Westinghouse Broadcasting Company and Group W Information Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Central Connecticut State University.

 

Gregory Nixon
Senior Vice President, General Counsel,
Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer

Gregory Nixon joined DynCorp International in September 2009. As General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, he leads, manages, and directs the legal affairs of the corporation. Greg worked previously for McKinsey & Company Inc., where he was an associate general counsel and assistant secretary, and vice president and general counsel of the Public Sector Services division. Before that, he was a principal, associate general counsel and assistant secretary at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., and lead attorney for their Global Government Business division (Booz Allen Hamilton’s largest business). He also practiced law at the international law firm of Howrey LLP in their Commercial Litigation Group. After serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, Greg held senior government positions in the U.S. Government Accountability Office and served as special counsel in the U.S. Navy Office of the General Counsel. He holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps Reserve. He has been honored with the Meritorious Service Medal and the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal. He also served in a leadership capacity on President Obama’s transition team. Greg has a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tuskegee University.

 

Craig Reed
Senior Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development

Craig Reed joined DynCorp International in December 2008 to oversee market intelligence, strategic initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Dl, he was vice president of strategy for Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Cyber Campaign, and vice president of strategy and planning for the Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems division. Craig was a presidential appointee to the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), where he served as senior policy advisor in the Office of the Secretary, chairman of the DoE’s Counterterrorism/Homeland Security Council, and representative to the White House National Space Policy Coordinating Council. Craig earned a PhD in public policy with a concentration in national security studies from George Washington University. He holds a Master of International Affairs degree in international security policy and international business from Columbia University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and psychology from the State University of New York at Albany.

 

Bob Rosenkranz
Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff

Robert Rosenkranz was named executive vice president and chief of staff in December 2008, having served since 2005 as president of the International Security Services division and its predecessor, the Government Services division. He was previously vice president of business development for KEI Pearson, a global education and media company, and general manager of Beamhit, a marksmanship-simulation company that was acquired by L-3 Communications. From 1995 to 2001, he was senior vice president of range and logistics services for DynCorp Technical Services. Bob is a retired U.S. Army major general. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and has a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed graduate studies at the United States Army War College, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the John F. Kennedy School of Public Administration at Harvard University.

 

Steve Schorer
President, Global Platform Support Solutions (GPSS)

Steven T. Schorer joined DynCorp International in April 2009 as president of the Global Platform Support Solutions division. From 2003 to 2008, he was president of the C4I segment at DRS Technologies. Earlier, he served as president and general manager of the Ocean Systems Division of L-3 Communications. He has also worked for Allied Signal Aerospace, Lockheed Missiles and Space, Raytheon, and Hughes Aircraft. Steve has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He completed executive management programs at the Anderson School of Executive Management, University of California, Los Angeles, and at the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix. 

 

 

Tony Smeraglinolo
President, Global Stabilization and Development Solutions (GSDS)

Anthony Smeraglinolo joined DynCorp International in December 2008 as president of the International Security Services division which preceded the Global Stabilization and Development Solutions division. He joined DI from L-3 Corporation, where he served as president of the Intelligence Solutions Division from 2005 to 2008. He spent more than 25 years with Harris Corporation, holding leadership positions in finance, program management, business development and operations. He was also senior vice president of business operations at DRS Technologies. Tony has an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology and a BS in business management from Fairfield University in Connecticut. 

 

 

John Supina
Senior Vice President, Business Administration

John Supina was named senior vice president of business administration in October 2007. He oversees contract administration, information technology, contract and proposal pricing, purchasing, quality assurance and safety, and facilities management. John joined Dynalectron, DI’s predecessor, in 1980. He has served in executive positions including vice president of contract administration, and senior vice president of Department of State operations, general manager of DIFZ in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and vice president of contract administration for the Government Services division. His career includes five years in the U.S. Navy, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance management.

 

Dianne Walker
Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Barbara Dianne Walker was named senior vice president of human resources in March 2007. Before that, she was vice president of human resources for the Maintenance and Technical Support Services (MTSS) division. She served also as vice president of business administration for MTSS and its predecessor, Field Technical Services, responsible for all business administration for the operating unit. Dianne joined the company in 1979 and has served since then in roles of increasing responsibility.
