Commission on Wartime Contracting: Afghan
National Security Forces Contract Training
VP Don Ryder represented DI on December 18 before the Commission
on Wartime Contracting (CWC). The CWC was established by Congress
to study wartime contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ryder leads
the CIVPOL program, the international civilian police training DI
currently conducts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Haiti, Liberia, Sudan, and
with the Palestinian Authority. This hearing focused on government
oversight and the effectiveness of contract training for
Afghanistan's security forces: the Afghan National Army, Police,
and Border Police. The CWC Commissioners spoke positively about
DI's record and performance in training the Afghan National Police,
and they acknowledged the CIVPOL Employee Assistance Program
(CEAP), which assists wounded employees and the families of those
killed. Here is Don Ryder's statement.
