IRVING, TEXAS – October 24, 2005 – DynCorp International has named Mr. Richard J. Burggraf as senior vice president and chief risk officer.
As chief risk officer, Mr. Burggraf will help identify and mitigate the
risk inherent in all DynCorp International operations. He is the
director of the property, casualty, aviation, and marine insurance
programs, and of the health & welfare programs. Mr. Burggraf also
is a member of the management team for commercial project development.
Over the last eighteen years, Mr. Burggraf was president of The
Burggraf Group and, most recently, of Excipius LLC, risk and insurance
consultant firms specializing in the formation of property/casualty and
life/health insurance companies. With headquarters in New York, the
practices formed insurance companies in Bermuda, Croatia, Luxembourg,
Paraguay, Ukraine, and Viet Nam with an aggregate policyholder surplus
of $50 billion.
Previously, he was international vice
president with Johnson & Higgins and an underwriter with The
Hartford Group and The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
Mr.
Burggraf has maintained professional affiliations with the Agency for
International Development as a subcontractor, the College of Insurance
as a guest lecturer, the Institute for East West Studies as a corporate
member, the International Risk and Insurance Management Society as a
member and annual guest lecturer, and the United Nations as a
consultant to standing delegations.
He holds a bachelor’s
degree from Cathedral College in Washington, DC, and master’s degrees
in theology and psychology from the Seminary of the Immaculate
Conception and St. John´s University, respectively.
