FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Sept. 6, 2006
DynCorp International (NYSE: DCP) has transferred its principal executive offices to Falls Church, Virginia, effective August 31, 2006. The company was previously headquartered in Irving, Texas, with several executive functions already located in Falls Church.
The transfer of headquarters is not expected to affect the number of employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where the company employs approximately 600 people and will continue to have a strong presence.
DynCorp International Chairman Robert B. McKeon first discussed the transfer in an investor conference call held on July 18, 2006, while introducing the company’s new CEO, Herbert J. Lanese. Explaining that Mr. Lanese would work primarily out of the Washington-area office, Mr. McKeon said, “The company right now is headquartered in Dallas and we have a lot of…key functions down here. But…it's important to have the very senior leadership in Washington close to our customers.”
The federal government is DynCorp International’s largest customer.
