FALLS
CHURCH, Va. – November 11, 2008 – DynCorp International (NYSE:DCP) has
been ranked the 19th most military-friendly employer by G. I. Jobs
Magazine, the nation’s premier career guide for military job-seekers.
Selected companies are those that have made the greatest effort and
have had the greatest success in hiring military veterans. DynCorp
International has made the list for two years in a row.
"Men
and women who have completed military service bring tremendous skills,
experience, dedication and commitment” said DynCorp International
President and CEO William L. Ballhaus. “We recognize the value their
service brings, and they are a great asset to DynCorp International in
our work, supporting the U.S. government in foreign policy and national
security fields with critical support and training services."
This sixth annual list was selected from a pool of approximately 2,500
companies with a minimum of $1 billion in annual revenues. Only two
percent make the final list of the 50 Military Friendly Employers.
Companies were chosen for their level of dedication in military hiring,
observance of Reserve/Guard policies, veteran training programs, and
the percentage of new hires who are veterans. The Top 50 firms span
coast to coast and represent a wide range of industries, including
insurance, finance, aerospace, government service, consulting, and
retail.
"This is about good business," said Rich McCormack,
who heads G.I. Jobs’ list research. "The companies on our list
understand that."
